Russian DM: Over 600 ISIS Killed in Cruise Missile Strikes
France dismissed Russian suggestions on Friday its air strikes against oil installations in Syria were illegal, saying they were “an appropriate and necessary riposte” to attacks by Islamic State.
In a video posted online by the Russian Defense Ministry on Friday, the Russian words “За Парижа” – or “for Paris” in English – are written on what appears to be bombs on a Russian jet in Syria.
At least eight people were killed in at least 50 air strikes in the eastern Deir Ezzor province on Friday, during which dozens of oil tankers were destroyed, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

In four days of heavy bombing against IS, the ministry said, more than 100 cruise missiles were launched and more than 800 “terrorist” targets destroyed in Syria.
“Over the past 48 days, the Russian air grouping has performed 2,289 sorties and delivered 4,111 missile and bomb strikes against major infrastructure facilities and the concentrations of the militants’ armor and personnel”, he said.
A peace plan agreed to last weekend by 17 nations meeting in Vienna says nothing about Assad’s future, but states that “free and fair elections would be held pursuant to the new constitution within 18 months”.
An investigation by British newspaper The Financial Times in October estimated that the militants reap some $1.5 million a day from oil, based on the price of $45 a barrel.
The Russian strongman has ordered his military not to let up in their raids as ISIS continues to be degraded by a sustained aerial bombardment.
Deir al-Zour province is also rich in oil.
The ministry also said that Russian forces in Syria has started cooperation with the French armed forces.
Russian President Vladimir Putin acknowledged the militaries moving but claimed that there is yet a lot of work to do to finish with terrorist in Syria.
“Under the Russian president’s decree, the General Staff is working out joint anti-terrorism operations with the French Navy”.
