Russian President Vladimir Putin Warns Turkey Over ‘War Crime’
Meanwhile, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has rejected as “Soviet-style propaganda”, Russian allegations that Ankara is in league with militants to smuggle oil.
“If we will be honest enough in our intention to disrupt the channels of financial support to terrorists in Syria and Turkey for a start, and also in Libya, we will be able to defeat terrorism swiftly and successfully”, Ivanov said.
The Turkish government announced Wednesday it will cut Russian gas imports by 25 percent in 2016, as Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed to have evidence of Turkish complicity with Islamic State oil smuggling.
“Turkey is the main consumer of the oil stolen from its rightful owners, Syria and Iraq”, said Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov. “According to our data, the political leadership of the country [Turkey], including President Erdogan and his family, is involved in this criminal business”.
Russian Federation has said Turkey is the biggest buyer of oil smuggled from IS-held territory, accusing Mr Erdogan and his family of direct involvement. “Emotions are running high (in Turkey and Russia), but my president (Nazarbayev), knowing Mr Putin very well personally and knowing his great potential to be constructive and knowing personally President (Tayyip) Erdogan, believes and hopes they will think strategically in this very hard situation”, Idrissov said. “If the Russians are really concerned about ISIL’s illicit finance efforts, they should take it up with Bashar al-Assad, the person that is relying on the Russians for his continued ability to remain in power”.
Turkey claims the plane breached its airspace and ignored repeated warnings but Russian Federation insists it never crossed the border from Syria and accused Ankara of a planned provocation.

President Erdogan denies that Turkey procures oil from anything other than legitimate sources.
He said that oil “is transported to Turkey (from Islamic State territory) in industrial quantities along the “rolling pipelines” made up of thousands of tanker trucks”.
He attacked Turkish leaders for the shooting down of the Russian jet on a bombing mission in Syria, saying “only Allah knows why they did it”.
They said they had identified three main routes for oil from Syria and Iraq into Turkey, most of which they claimed comes from fields near Dier ez-Zor in eastern Syria.
