Ryan Adams to Release Smiths-Style Taylor Swift Cover Album
Adams, who also recently covered Foo Fighters live, revealed the news of his surprise project on Twitter, later sharing a snippet of his “Welcome To New York” cover via Instagram (see below).
This morning, Ryan Adams filled his Twitter and Instagram accounts with a series of small but potent pronouncements: he’s now in the midst of recording covers of all of Taylor Swift’s 1989, and was dropping the news seemingly mid-recording.
Swift responded to Adams directly, still excited about the album. In fact, back when Taylor released the music video for her Harry Styles-inspired tune “Style”, many fans thought its dreamy and avant garde aesthetic was better suited for “Wildest Dreams”.
