Sabra hummus recalled due to possible listeria risk
On Saturday, Sabra Dipping Co. announced a recall of some hummus products due to listeria concerns.
The affected products were made prior to November 8, and have a “best before” date up to and including January 23, 2017. “We’re recalling this product out of an abundance of caution”.
Some of the dozen products affected are: Sabra Hummus Caramelized Onion, Sabra Hummus Classic, Sabra Hummus Garlic and Sabra Hummus Red Pepper. Symptoms involve fever, muscle pains, stomach pains and diarrhea.
However, listeria symptoms are not so severe, they do manifest in different ways depending on the person.
The company that makes a popular #hummus dip is telling hummus lovers to toss out a wide range of its products after listeria was detected in a food manufacturing plant.

Recalled products were distributed to supermarkets throughout the United States and Canada.
In pregnant women, the infection may cause premature delivery, stillbirth, and the infection of the baby.
The bacteria generally infect older people, pregnant women, newborns and adults with compromised immune systems. Bob’s of Upland, where listeria problems caused several nationwide recalls of ice cream sold in Florida, has reportedly shut down its business, according to a report by the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin.
