Sacha Killeya-Jones commits to Kentucky Wildcats
Killeya-Jones was a fringe top-50 prospect before the spring/summer circuit.
Sacha Killeya-Jones, a 6’10 big man from Virginia, gave a verbal commitment to John Calipari and the Wildcats on Wednesday morning, according to Evan Daniels of Scout.
Kentucky picked up a commitment from four-star power forward Sacha Killeya-Jones. Calipari has the ability to change that in a hurry, and it seems as though he is well on his way.
Killeya-Jones joins four-star power forward Tai Wynyard in the Wildcats’ 2016 class, though Wynyard should be on campus as early as December.
He committed to Kentucky over the likes of North Carolina, Kansas and Virginia.
“I know going to play for Coach Cal at Kentucky means I will be playing against great players in practice, that’s what I was looking for, because it will help me develop as a player and prepare me for the games”.
Killeya-Jones, who goes to high school in southern Virginia, originally committed to Tony Bennett and the Cavaliers but reopened his recruitment in early June.
Right now, Killeya-Jones is ranked 51st in the class, according to Rivals, although that number will likely be bumped up the next time the rankings are updated.
Kentucky continues to pursue other ESPN 100 standouts including Harry Giles (No. 1) who will be at Big Blue Madness;, Dennis Smith Jr.
