SAG Award nominees named
The drama I Smile Back has grossed a minuscule $59,000 since opening in October to stark reviews (at aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes, 55% of critics liked it, while just 48% of audiences did).

Hollywood awards season continues on Thursday (midnight Friday AEDT) with the Golden Globes nomination ceremony.

Mirren is a double SAG nominee, also in the running as best actress for her role in Woman in Gold, about an elderly Jewish woman trying to reclaim art stolen by the Nazis.
Cate Blanchett, Brie Larson and Saoirse Ronan received nominations, as did Helen Mirren – and surprisingly, Sarah Silverman.
“Trumbo” star Bryan Cranston earned a greatest actor nod for his position as Dalton Trumbo, whereas Helen Mirren acquired a greatest supporting actress nomination for enjoying gossip columnist Hedda Hopper.
Among SAG’s best actor nominees, Oscar front-runner Leonardo DiCaprio (“The Revenant“) will face off against Johnny Depp (“Black Mass”), Michael Fassbender (“Steve Jobs”), Eddie Redmayne (“The Danish Girl”) and “Trumbo” star Cranston. “Spotlight”, which tells the story of the Boston Globe’s reporting on the Catholic Church sex abuse scandal, made the cut in this category, as did the movie “Beasts”.
The hit HBO series and its stellar cast earned a total of three nominations, which might not sound like much, but it actually tied with Homeland and House of Cards for the most nominations in the television category.
The awards will be broadcast live on January 30 from Los Angeles on TNT and TBS.
