Saints’ Brees intends to play despite torn plantar fascia ligament

“As far as treatment goes, there is calming it down, while at the same time, you’ve got to get it moving to see what you are able to do and what you are able to tolerate and get blood flow so that promotes the healing process and just various things like that”, Brees said. “The part I like about it, it was highly, highly competitive, and there was a lot of juice, as we say, on the field for it. So that’s what you’d hope when you have those third-down situations, or whatever the situation period is, that the intensity rises because it’s not a service look”.

The Jaguars played against the Falcons last week.

Beckham does not count on the roster because he is suspended for a game for his actions last Sunday against Carolina. However, since Brees isn’t at full strength and since Marques Colston is expected to be on the wrong side of the game-time decision coin, as per the NFL Network’s Rand Getlin, that could make the Saints ability to gain yards on the ground all the more important. And with that in mind, it’s hard to side with New Orleans, especially with Brees ailing.

When asked why it is in his and his team’s best interest to play Sunday with the team already eliminated from playoff contention, Brees said, “One reason and one reason only”.

Grayson has not taken a snap in a regular season game and usually is inactive on game days.
