Salvation Army Kettles In Sioux Falls Closer To Goal
The Salvation Army says Stanley chose to use the money to make the stuffed toys at the Build-A-Bear Workshop in Duluth’s Miller Hill Mall because it’s her favorite place to be.
The Salvation Army has thousands of toys looking for a new home, and they are on the move this week.
Volunteer Myra Young said she can relate to the less fortunate.
An anonymous donor dropped off this Canadian 1985 Elizabeth II $50 gold coin in a Salvation Army red kettle over the weekend.
Without the Salvation Army’s help, the holiday would be bleak.
Two days after a fire broke out within The Salvation Army church on Shadyside Avenue in Huntingdon, PA, an investigation into the cause is still ongoing.
“The fellow running the coin counter said this won’t fit down in the coin machine as he handed it to me”. If only we could experientially share the stories of those who receive the help. “During Christmas, this will help 25 children from the most vulnerable families have food, toys, warm winter coats, clothing, hats and gloves through our Toy Shop distribution”.
Capt. Correira said although they reached the angel tree goal, they are still short around $55,000 in reaching the goal for the kettle drive.
“It affects the bottom line of what we’re able to give to clients”, says Roberta Franco, the director of The Salvation Army office in Mesquite. Donate $25 or more to help cover the costs of food, clothes and more for those in need so they can celebrate Christmas.
Besides Kettle campaign donations, contributions can also be made online at kelownasalvationarmy.ca (folllow the links to the secure donation form), at the Salvation Army community church site, 1480 Sutherland Rd., or at any London Drugs store check-out counter. “So if people are still willing to donate that’s what we need so we can make sure all kids get an equal and fair amount”. “Their needs are a lot more practical”.
A witness told police they saw a man snatch up the red kettle, including its stand, outside a Walgreens on Grand River and walk away.
“We are down even more than previous year”, he said.
