Sam Bradford won’t start for Vikings against Titans, report says
I know that may sound harsh, but if you’ve associated yourself with the Pittsburgh Pirates for the last 25 years, you’d fully understand. That said, my process is usually correct and football itself is the real culprit to blame. They also have a two-headed backfield in RB DeMarco Murray and recent Heisman Derrick Henry, but the Vikings’ have a great run defense. All those players are being drafted and put to use in plenty of leagues.
Asked on Friday if he’d told the team who would start at quarterback against the Titans, Zimmer smirked and said, “Maybe”.
Bradford may just be flawless for Norv Turner’s West Coast scheme, and multiple sources tell us Bradford, known more for his accuracy, has a much stronger arm than Bridgewater. Hill (63.3 percent) and Bradford (65 percent) had functionally identical numbers the last time they each started more than half a season (2014 for Hill and 2015 for Bradford), while both averaged around seven yards per attempt. That said, this isn’t the right week to use him. Sunday’s game kicks off at noon. Two free agency acquisitions will be charged with protecting him. Tennessee actually had a pretty good defense last season. If Minnesota can run consistently, they should have no problem winning this one. He’s a solid RB2. The Titans host the Vikings on Sunday. Along with his underrated big-play ability, Walker should be started confidently despite the intimidating on-paper matchup.
Tennessee opens the game with 40-yard Gary Anderson field goal … The other (Sam Bradford) is just getting started in Minnesota after being traded from Philadelphia.
– Vikings fans are understandably eager to get a good look at first-round pick Laquon Treadwell, but expectations should be kept low for Treadwell and the rest of the passing game. He’s an RB1, just like he is every week.
It can also make watching the games on Sundays more enjoyable (assuming you’re into that kind of thing). Given the Vikings quarterback situation, many will probably just avoid using any Vikings receiver, but in deeper leagues Diggs may be worth the risk.
No one can say the Tennessee Titans didn’t try to get better. He’s more a high-floor than upside play, but he can be used as a WR3 or Flex. Aaron Rodgers has a very deep receiving corps, led by returning stars Jordy Nelson, who missed all of last season, and Randall Cobb. Rudolph has by no means lived up to his hype, but he’s still the starter and is always a red-zone threat.
No one played well in the lousy loss. Considering the Titans gave up the eighth-most fantasy points to tight ends a year ago, you could do worse than Rudolph for a streaming option. The Titans are probably on your waiver wire, and they present a tantalizing option as a streamer defense. It won’t matter whether it is Shaun Hill or Sam Bradford at the helm, as the Vikings will hand the ball off to Adrian Peterson as much as it takes to win the game.
It’s worth noting Bradford will surely be with the Vikings in 2016 and potentially beyond if Bridgewater’s recovery is slow. The fact that the game is at home is a little different, but it should help. Unlike the rest of the NFC North, they play at 3:30 instead of noon.
