Sam Raimi has ‘a lot of faith’ Marvel’s Spider-Man reboot
The “Spider-Man” trilogy director Sam Raimi has finally spoken about Marvel and Sony’s upcoming reboot, saying he has “a lot of faith” in the studios’ new take on the superhero film.
The movie will be set in high school and it will have a John Hughes “feel” to it. as said by the website, Hughes is famous for his teenage films in the 1980s, specifically “The Breakfast Club”, “Pretty in Pink” and “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”.
IGN pressed for more answers and wanted to know if the new Spider-Man movie suit resembles the ones seen in the comic books, or the recent movies. “And I have a lot of faith that they really know their stuff”.
The original “Spider-Man” director is excited with Marvel’s vision for the web-slinger.
Asked on what particular aspect of Peter’s life the new “Spider-Man” movie should focus on, he said that the film should highlight the superhero’s struggles as a high school student and his relationship with Gwen Stacy. However, that is about all anyone has to go on in terms of his previous work. I love Flash Thompson, yeah. Reported by the 55-year-old director, he is looking forward to see Peter Parker’s difficulty in going through high school -something he described as what his character is mainly all about. “So that they’re going to explore that head-on is very exciting”, he added. Marvel just has one film, Captain America: Civil War, but it’s arguably their biggest to date featuring almost everyone in the MCU and the debut of Tom Holland as Spider-Man (albeit in a brief cameo role).
Previously, Marvel revealed Tom Holland to be the newest actor to take on the character of Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Hey Tom, why are you packing so much heat?
The post has already garnered over five thousand likes since it was shared by the actor last Sunday, July 19.
Last week, he shared a photo of himself in gym clothes, which he captioned: “New glasses and it’s time for the gym!!!”
It’s not known what Holland was doing with the team of “Suicide Squad”. Obviously the cool thing would be to see Holland return the favor by getting Kinnaman onto the Spider-Man set when that starts filming.
