Sam’s Club Announces Store Closures

On the Sam’s Club website, the South Tampa location does not appear in the “Find a club” section. If you call the impacted locations there is a taped message that announces the store closed January 11. There also reports of closings in Indianapolis.

Walmart is shuttering some of its Sam’s Club locations, with some stores reportedly closing their doors across the U.S.as early as Thursday. The company has not yet said why the Goshen store will be closing or how many stores in total will be closed. “At Christmas time, and every other week I would get paper products and the rotisserie chicken”.

Manchester Director of Planning and Economic Development Gary Anderson says town officials learned of the closures Thursday morning- the same day that employees learned of them.

According to one employee who spoke with Nexstar contributing station WROC, the stores will reopen on Friday, with all items marked 25 percent off.

Another employee said he was upset to learn of the sudden closure with no notice from the company. The employee said a Wednesday night alert of the 9 a.m. Thursday meeting was the first hint anything was happening.

However, the Sam’s Club closings is coming without an announcement.

A staff member told Valley News Live that Sam’s Club in Moorhead is set to close the end of January.
