Same dress seen on TV all over the country, including Montgomery
Local weather reporters around the country have taken to wearing the same dress on air.
The dress is available in several different colors and apparently fits the strict on-air dress code female meteorologists need to follow. It became popular among female meteorologists after it was posted on a group Facebook page.
WTMJ-TV (Channel 4) meteorologist Jesse Ritka is joining the cult of the $23 dress.
A group of meteorologists made a decision to play a practical joke on viewers across the country by all purchasing the same dress and wearing it on air, according to Buzzfeed.
Then over the weekend, Dallas weather woman Jennifer Myers posted a collage of the colorfully frocked forecasters on Reddit and the dress zoomed to the top of the Internet charts.
Lyndsay Tapses, a meteorologist in Charlotte, North Carolina, said the dress is appealing because it has “all of those qualities (female meteorologists on television) look for”, including style, comfort, polish and sleeves. Who can resist a deal that tempting, especially when someone says it “flatters everyone”?
Shelby Hays, a meteorologist in Oklahoma, told Tech Insider the dress is versatile and looks great on camera. “At $23, we could buy a handful of these dresses for what we normally pay for just one”.
