Sammy Watkins injury: Bills WR questionable to return after hurting leg
Bills WR Sammy Watkins suffered a calf injury in the first half of Sunday’s win over Miami. Watkins spent some time on the Bills’ bench getting checked out by a trainer. Watkins remains an intriguing physical talent, but his durability and supporting cast are major concerns heading into 2015. Shortly after that, Watkins slowly made his way to the locker room under his own power. He struggled with injuries as a rookie, suffering broken ribs, a groin issue and then a torn hip labrum that required offseason surgery.
Watkins caught six passes for 60 yards a score in the Bills Week 2 loss to New England. Kraig Urbik replaced him at right guard.
“Well, it’s a calf, and obviously he couldn’t press off it at the end to where he could go out and play”, said Rex Ryan after the game Sunday. Both were listed as questionable to return.
