Samsung Electronics to start phone upgrade programme – Electronic Times
The company is expected to unveil the S7 at the Mobile World Congress to be held next month. Nevertheless, we’ve gathered some of the rumored specs of the LG G5 and the Galaxy S7.
Evan announced on his Twitter handle (@evleaks) that the Galaxy S7 will be released on March 11, 2016, in the US.
In the leaked images, Galaxy S7 is wrapped in developer’s attire for testing purposes, but the Home button and capacitive touch buttons are enough proof of an authentic Samsung Galaxy smartphone.
The smartphone will also reportedly feature a 12-megapixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture and will sit flush with the body of the phone, unlike the bulkier 16-megapixel rear camera shipped with the Galaxy S6. The device is also IP67 water and dust resistant and it will also feature, an iris eye and fingerprint scanner. All of the latest rumors have implied that the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge will actually act as the phablet option at 5.5 inches, while the regular Galaxy S7 will come in at the traditional size of 5.1 inches.
As a reminder, SM-G930 has always been referred to as the model number for the Galaxy S7. Perhaps the return of the microSD card slot will help drive sales of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and remind people why Samsung is different than Apple.
Now, Mobi Picker has revealed a fresh roadmap of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates.
Previously, we reported that there were going to be a total of four Galaxy S7 models, at least according to the form factors that they were going to be coming in.
The devices will have 4GB of RAM and use either Exynos 8890 or Snapdragon 820.
Meanwhile, many other specs for the Galaxy S7 are up in the air.
Even though smartphone manufacturers like Motorola, LG and HTC have started Android 6.0 Marshmallow roll out for their smartphones, Samsung is yet to release Android M update for its flagship smartphones. Customers will also have to pay taxes and fees on both devices that they purchase as part of this promotion. Again it is best to take this information with a grain of salt but it is definitely exciting to see a prelude to a possible great battle between upcoming flagship smartphones of LG and Samsung.
