Samsung Galaxy Note 5 now comes with clear S Pen insertion instructions
The S Pen Stylus in the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has a patented push-to-eject mechanism which allows it to be easier to remove as compared to its predecessors.
“Be sure to insert your S Pen with the nib pointed inward”, writes Samsung in the warning. Then you will be able to extract the stylus inserted wrong in the Samsung Galaxy Note 5.
Just like any other software update, the new Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge is being released gradually, meaning that it could take a few days until it hits your terminal.
The unfortunate design flaw could significantly reduce the functionality of an otherwise excellent device.
The label appears directly above the screen, making it hard to miss. There may still be a minority of users who forget about the warning and damage their phone, but at least the move should reduce any future criticism.
Unlike the previous Note variants, when someone tries to insert the stylus from the wrong side, users do not experience an obstruction to instantly realise that something is wrong. The S Pen is one of the features along with the device’s thin frame and curved back which set the phablet apart from the rest. However, a lot of folks don’t read the user guide for their new phone, so many Note 5 owners probably never read the message. Basically, the stylus was stuck there, apparently damaging the motherboard.
If you have inserted your stylus the wrong way and found that it is now stuck inside your device, there is an easy fix. Give the piece of paper a little curve and make a right angle out of it. When you’re done, curl it around the tip of the pen, then gently slide it up the bay, so it can reach the detection sensor.
