Samsung Galaxy Note 8
In addition, the Samsung Note 8 will face competition from Samsung’s own devices like the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. In Canada, the color choices are midnight black and deep sea blue. To be honest, the Note 8’s design isn’t extraordinary, but that’s fine, because what you get inside is quite impressive. There is waterproofing and dust proof rating, the same awkwardly placed fingerprint scanner, a USB Type-C port, audio tech by AKG (with bundled earphones), fast charging and Android 7.1.1. Behind the 6.3-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity Display sits a powerful Octa-Core 64-bit 10nm processor (varies depending upon region). The aspect ratio tuned here is 18:5:9 for a cinematic viewing experience. There are also on-screen navigation buttons and slim bezels. It will likely be offered in a 6GB+64GB configuration, but a 256GB storage variant has also been suggested. Personally, I would have loved to see a larger battery on board, but can’t blame Samsung for playing it safe this year.
The Note8 runs Android 7.1 and comes with Bixby, Samsung’s new voice assistant akin to Apple’s Siri, Amazon’s Alexa and the Google assistant.
There are deals on the, believe it or not, but expect to pay full price for the phone while getting pre-order bonuses in the U.S. instead. One of the lenses is an f/1.7 wide-angle and the other an f/2.4 telephoto (2x optical zoom, up to 10x digital zoom).
In the camera department, the Galaxy Note 8 is much ahead of the previously launched Galaxy smartphone.
It’s a feature that was originally meant to be pioneered by the doomed Galaxy Note7, which was ultimately recalled after reports that multiple units caught fire while charging. The front camera is 8 megapixels. And there are more places in the system where you can use handwriting now, including messaging. It’s an extremely exciting device and an excellent choice for those that want a huge screen, a ton of horsepower, and an enhanced S Pen stylus. It comes with features like 4000 levels of pressure sensitivity, a more flexible tip, creating an animated GIF of your sketches, translating more words in a single swipe are some of the features of the improved S-Pen.
But enough about the users, what about the Note 8? Samsung are offering a free Dex station which is worth £139, when you purchase from a participating retailer which allows you to turn your phone into a desktop. A new feature called App Pair that lets you configure sets of apps that will launch together side-by-side in the device’s multi-window mode.
