Samsung Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge: What Did Not Make It Out

Thinking of picking up either the Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge? It has two 180-degree fish-eye lenses, can be remotely controlled by a Samsung phone and can stream video or 30-megapixel photos in real time.

The Samsung S6, which sports a smaller battery than its predecessors has received criticism from users, so now Samsung has packed the SG7 with a 3,00-mAh battery, ultimately bigger and better.

In addition to the Galaxy S7 models, Samsung announced the Gear 360 camera at its MWC conference in Barcelona on Sunday evening.

The new range of handsets look similar to that of Galaxy S6 series, but come packed with new features including water resistance and microSD card slots for memory expansion. Though they share much of the same hardware (including a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 and 4GB of RAM), the S7 Edge is now a larger phone – with a 5.5-inch display compared to the 5.1 inch S7. The LG G5 has both 8- and 16-megapixel sensors on the back, located on either side of the LED flash. However, unlike the previous flagship, the Galaxy S7 brings in features that the previous flagship removed. A wide-aperture f/1.7 lens paired with a lower MP helps the device in low-light shooting, plus you can shoot in the rain due to the phone’s water-resistant IP68 build. Once again, the two devices will be shipped with Android Marshmallow 6.0 out of the box, while the S7 and S7 edge will be powered by 3000mAh and 3600mAh batteries respectively. Samsung says that because you no longer have to turn on your screen to check your notifications, the battery life your the smartphone improves drastically. This event was one of the best that the Korean giant has offered so far. However, the Gear 360 would make the competition tougher for LG’s offering.

The hybrid SIM card tray allows users to insert a microSD card for up to 200GB of additional storage and in some select countries, the tray can be used with a dual SIM card. The Gear 360 connects with the Galaxy smartphones using Wi-Fi Direct and pairs easily with NFC.
