Samsung Galaxy S8 might come in gold
What started out as a product branding initiative appears to have taken on viral proportions, spreading to millions of potential buyers of the Galaxy S8.
Adding to that Kuo has also outlined other details about the iPhone 8, such as OLED display, wireless charging, new glass design etc. As expected, it will be one of the top-notch devices in 2017 and is seen to rival the upcoming iPhone 8 from Apple. The former is reported to have a 5.7-inch display, while the latter has a monstrous 6.2-inch screen.
The G6’s display is a full inch larger than the iPhone 7 but is only a little bit taller.
“Samsung poured resources into Synaptics’ fledgling technology a year ago but the results were frustrating”, a source briefed on the matter told The Investor on condition of anonymity. The pic does not show anything new but reaffirms that the Galaxy S8 is a good looking phone with a curved display and minimal bezels. It seems that the fingerprint sensor is going to the back of the phone to live alongside the camera module. The screenshots show the all new icons from Samsung, all based around the theme that we have already seen for the navigation icons on the navigation bar. Back in 2013, amidst Apple’s unveiling of Touch ID on the iPhone 5s, the South Korean company had been working with a firm called “Validity” to help it implement a similar technology underneath the home button on its Galaxy Note 3 flagship. However, with the Samsung Galaxy S8 due this month, there’s not too long to wait for the Android phone.
Last year’s Galaxy Note 7 debacle notwithstanding, the Galaxy S8 remains a highly anticipated device.
Kuo claims that Galaxy S8 handsets sold in the US, China and Japan will pack Qualcomm’s 10nm Snapdragon 835 chip, while models sold in Europe will use Samsung’s homegrown Exynos 8895 chip.
With the company poised to reveal its new Galaxy S8 flagship device at an event in NY on March 29th, hopes are high that the smartphone giant will show off something truly special. In January, the firm’s mobile phone sales fell to their lowest level in five years, with the company reporting three consecutive annual decline in mobile sales. The Galaxy S8 will be shipping out with 4GB RAM as well as 6GB in selected markets.
