Samsung glamour days over as it fights to save mobile market share

The world’s largest smartphone maker said net profit for the April-June period stood at 5.75 trillion won (USD 4.9 billion), down from 6.25 trillion won a year ago and slightly below analyst estimates. The Indian import/ export site, Zauba also provided insights on the pricing of the upcoming smartphone.

Samsung has provided Android 5.1 Lollipop on the Galaxy Grand Prime 4G with its TouchWiz UX on top.

Reuters cited an anonymous source as reporting July 10 that Samsung was bringing forward the launch of a new version of its Galaxy Note phablet from September to mid-August, in a move to revive sales after a sluggish second quarter.

The Samsung Galaxy A8 will be giving competition to the already existing slim smartphones in the market – 4.75mm Vivo X5 Max, 4.85mm Oppo R5 and 5.1mm Gionee Elife S5.1. Rumor has it that Samsung will make use of their promising Note 5 to launch Samsung Pay, a new service which allows mobile payments.

Samsung has recently launched the new Samsung Galaxy A8 with Fingerprint Sensor priced at 32,500 Rs. The evolutionary approach on Samsung Galaxy Note 5 should change the way smartphones are used, managed and enjoyed. The phone is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Exynos 5430 processor coupled, and has 2GB RAM for optimum performance. Its back panel is covered with soft pleather and it comes in four colors, white, black, gold and pink.

The tweet picked up a quite bit of traction with many users expressing disappointment over Samsung’s apparent decision to cap storage without expansion.

Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime 4G is features a 8-megapxiel rear camera with LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front camera with a 85-degree wide-angle lens.

While there have been no official release date for the S6 Edge Plus and the Note 5 Edge, Tech Times said that reports are pointing to the IFA 2015 event in Berlin as a likely venue for Samsung to unveil the two devices.
