Samsung launches latest version Android
That said, Samsung is clearly trying to make its Edge feature more useful, and the company has announced that there are new third-party apps from Yahoo!, Naver, and others.
VentureBeat reported in January that the S7 will include a 3,000mAh battery, up from the S6’s 2550mAh and S7 Edge may have a 3,600mAh battery. Thankfully though, the wait has now ended, as the Android 6.0 update for Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge has been released.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow will also bring Google Now on Tap along with a new app drawer and permissions manager to the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge.
Rumors claim the Galaxy S7 will have a 5.1-inch screen while the S7 Edge will have a 5.5-inch screen.
There is no name branding in the video indicating the device is the Galaxy S7; however, we can assume the video refers to the device Samsung will unveil at its Unpacked event in Barcelona Feb. 21.
As usual, the 6.0 Marshmallow update for the two devices should be rolling out in stages in the next couple of weeks.
Various images and teaser videos of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 have surfaced, but the latest comes directly from Samsung Indonesia. The Edge is essentially identical to the handset in the video – and to last year’s S6 Edge as well, for that matter.
The device is expected to release with many other features such as a pressure sensitive screen, and an “always on display” which has been recently patented by the company. Where you live will also affect how long it takes for the update to arrive. It does show that the back of the Galaxy S7 will have a contoured back on the side edges that’s similar to the Galaxy Note 5.
Samsung is expected to be adding a pressure-sensitive display, which would perhaps mimic some of the 3D Touch features available in the iPhone 6s, allowing it to respond to a new range of pressure-based gestures.
