Samsung Readies First HD Monitor with Wireless Mobile Charging Feature
Samsung Electronics said July 27, 2015, its new SE370 monitor can wirelessly charge smartphones using the Qi interface standard. The monitor’s charge pad can charge any mobile device that uses the Qi wireless charging standard, including Samsung’s Galaxy S6 flagship. The monitors are available in 23.6 and 27-inch variants in the 1920 x 1080 resolution.
The screen will use AMD FreeSync technology that will significantly reduce the stutter and lag gamers experience while playing. Along with exploring how to measure body fat with your phone and unveiling their thinnest phone yet, the South Korean company is preparing to introduce a new monitor with a very practical first-time feature.
Samsung did not provide information about pricing or availability for the SE370 monitor and did not immediately respond to a request for more information. To that end, Samsung is incorporating a wireless charging station into its new SE370 gaming monitor, letting you slap your phone down and keep it charged while you play League of Legends.
Samsung’s Senior Vice President of Visual Display Business, Seok-gi Kim stated “Technology should support, not interfere with, active lifestyles”. Its 178-degree wide-viewing angle and 300 cd/m2 screen brightness delivers stunning imagery for maximum viewing enjoyment. However, the big draw here is the built-in wireless charging, which’ll allow you to skip buying a dedicated wireless charger or keeping track of a microUSB cable for your desk. This clearly signalled that Samsung was ready to throw its considerable weight behind a wireless charging future. Turn on game mode to correct blurry images, enhance colors, and alter contrast for better visibility.
Samsung has announced the latest addition to its monitor lineup.
The SE370 also includes some other rather cool features, such as an “eye-saver mode” aimed at reducing the blue light glow that can lead to eye strain.
