Samsung Rumored to One-Up Apple’s ‘iPad Pro’ With 18.4-Inch Android Tablet
Samsung is now in conversation with network providers around the world to execute the new approach. Samsung has recently showcased their Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ phablets, and earlier this year they’ve released the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones.
On the software end, don’t expect Android to make another appearance on this device, as Samsung’s being said to consider Windows 10 for its high powered slate.
That being said, it seems like Samsung is looking to up their tablet game soon.
However according to a report from SamMobile, it looks like Samsung is upping the ante with a tablet with a whopping 18.4-inch display. Panasonic’s 20-inch ruggedized Toughpad, for example, would be too big for most users, but the company instead markets it as a tool for people who need large displays on the move, such as salespeople making a presentation, or architects visiting a build site.
This tablet is reportedly codenamed “Tahoe” and its model name is SM-T760. Also despite its huge display, the tablet will only sport a Full HD resolution. Word of the rumored Windows 10 powered Samsung tablet first appeared on the Chinese language Weibo account of a known informant of technology news leaks. The 5,700mAh battery is said to power this monstrosity, and an 8-megapixel camera will be located on the back of this thing.
For the tablet’s size, SamMobile reports it will measure 451.8mm wide and 275.8mm tall, but only run 11.9mm thick. There is no information about when Samsung plans to release its new 12-inch Windows 10 powered tablet, though more leaks can be expected to surface over the next few days.
