Samsung’s huge 18.4-inch Galaxy View tablet certified ahead of launch
I was able to attend the launch of Samsung’s S2 tablets last week, and wrote up both my initial hands-on views, and included a video of the tablets being launched by the company’s VP of IT and Mobile in Australia, Prasad Gokhale. This makes sense on larger tablets (most certainly on the iPad Pro), but as noted in the Tab S2 review, multitasking on such a small screen can get messy.
Best Buy is now offering an attractive trade-in deal, where a customer can give an old-but-working tablet and get a $100 trade-in bonus upon purchasing a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2. While details are pretty scarce for the device, we have new information about the tablet thanks to the Indian Zauba import database.
Needless to say, today the fabled “SM-T670” seems to have gained even more credibility, as the tablet in question appears to have been certified by Bluetooth SIG, signaling what might be an imminent release.
Apple upgraded the chipset, replacing it with an A8 (Dual-core 1.5 GHz, backed by 1GB of RAM), while the internal memory has the same variants of 16/64/128 GB, which can’t be expanded.
The details of Samsung’s tablet listed on the online document reveal that the device features a 12-inch display and has a price tag of $457, though the final price is likely to be much higher. While the RAM might sound a bit less, given the rate at which things move in the Android world, and the tablet’s impressive screen size, we’re eager to see all the improvements that Samsung brings on the 7580.
Based on previous speculations, Samsung’s new tablet will feature a 12 inch screen with a 4K resolution (3840 x 2400 pixels) display or a 2K resolution (2560 x 1600 pixels). The iPad mini 4 is also on equal footing with the Tab S2 in the camera-Apple has equipped it with the iPad Air 2’s 8-megapixel camera, and kept the 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera.
The battery for the Samsung View is said to be of 5700mAh with the device also coming with a thickness of 11.9mm.
According to data found by GforGames, the Tahoe was approved by the Bluetooth SIG on September 14 with the model number SM-T670. Stay tuned and let us know what you think in the comments section below.
