Samsung sees profits fall as Galaxy S6 sales decline
Samsung Galaxy E5 was launched in India in January for Rs.
The precise reasons for the sluggish results will be more important.
Samsung has simply introduced the successor to last year’s Galaxy Folder clamshell android smartphone in South Korea. Such logistical issues can be addressed with time.
In contrast, Samsung Electronics successfully fixed its premium line up from the Galaxy S to the Galaxy Note, and is defending itself well against global competition. The key drivers of its valuation include huge volumes, reasonably high margins and relatively low capital intensity. The lack of expandable memory has been the absolute bane of the Samsung market this year even though the tech company registered massive sales even with this small disadvantage.
With other words, Samsung is the only company you can blame for all these problems that Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge devices have while running the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. In addition to mirroring the Galaxy S6’s design, the Note 5 appears to be taking some inspiration from the S6 Edge as well.
Indeed, Samsung mobile chief JK Shin predicted that demand for its Galaxy S6 lineup would be “much higher” than initially planned for, though Samsung doesn’t break out smartphone sales numbers. And that’s mostly reasonable, as a Canaccord Genuity research note found that Apple and Samsung claimed 107% of all smartphone operating profits in the first quarter of 2015; the rest of the broader smartphone industry lost money.
The consumer electronics business was helped by the launch of new flat-screen TV models, but sales and profits fell.
The company’s recent slump has stood in stark contrast to the performance of Apple, which has seen profits gain sharply on strong sales of its latest iPhone series. It is possible that when the Galaxy Tab S2 is released soon, it is likely that it shall also have the same features as that of the Galaxy S6 and the metallic frame is just one of them.
The OnePlus 2 looks quite similar to the original phone but this time has a metal frame with a plastic back.
On June 24, US Cellular shortly followed suit and made an official announcement that the company was going to start push the Android 5.1 update to their version of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge units.
As for the Galaxy Note 5’s launch, various sources speculated that Samsung will unveil its upcoming device next month, which means it will skip September’s IFA event.
