Samsung unveils Galaxy S7, taps deeper into VR
Yes, and Samsung Pay will be introduced in seven more countries, including Spain.
BARCELONA-After lots of rumors about the newest Samsung mobile devices, the electronics manufacturing company finally made its big announcement February 21, one day prior to this week’s Mobile World Congress. As predicted, Samsung unveiled Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, but what no one expected was the presence of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg on the stage. Considering the massive resign refresh that happened to the line-up a year ago, the Galaxy S7 retains a very similar form factor to the Galaxy S6 but there are a few tweaks.
It can hold up to 200GB of expandable storage, making this model better than its older counterparts. The headphone jack, speaker, and charging port still remain on the bottom of the phone. However, the Gear 360 would make the competition tougher for LG’s offering. That’s not all; it is also has IP53 certification for water and dust resistance, allowing you to take it on an adventure. Don’t expect to drop the Galaxy S7 into the ocean and still have it work though. The technology allows users to take vivid photos even in dark conditions.
As largely predicted, both the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge retain the quad HD resolution of last year’s release. While Sony has a 4K smartphone, most manufacturers are avoiding the battery-hungry screens for now.
The 820 chip and Galaxy S7 duo were closely linked in a number of rumors ahead of Samsung’s MWC 2016 press conference, and now Qualcomm has confirmed that its latest top tier processor will also be featured in Samsung’s new flagship handsets.
As the world’s first Dual Pixel smartphone camera, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge make it easy to capture low-light photos with incredible clarity. It’s part of LG’s new modular approach to design; you’ll be able to pop out the phone’s bottom and swap in new hardware features. Instead, Samsung is increasing the battery capacity in both models, though the Edge’s larger screen and other new features in both models, including an always-on mode, will sip away power. Samsung claims a “desktop PC” gaming experience, but that’s obviously hyperbole, though the phone will boast impressive graphics for a phone.
