Samsung unveils new Note, watch, smart speaker
WHO: Galaxy owners with Galaxy Note9, Galaxy S9/+, Galaxy Note8, Galaxy S8/+, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy Tab S4, Galaxy Tab S3. This isn’t the year for anything revolutionary in the Note.
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is finally official. The Mobile is now been pre-ordered by the users and will be delivered from August 24, 2018. Unsurprisingly, its predecessor has followed suit, launching at a staggering RRP of £899. Hi Tech Mail Ru from Russian Federation had dismantled the device and found out that the Note 9 had a entire copper tube for heat dissipation.
Among some changes from its previous releases, the fingerprint scanner has been placed under the camera in order to reach it easily.
Samsung’s latest entries will be available in two sizes and color finishes when they show up August 24 – 46mm silver, and 42mm midnight black and rose gold – with the ability to swap standard-sized bands from Samsung and outside companies.
Samsung does not break out shipments of its smartphone models, but analysts reckon it has shipped around 10 million Note 8 models so far. The Super AMOLED panel is 6.4-inch 2960 x 1440 px 18.5:9 aspect ratio display.
Only the Midnight Black color option comes with a limited-edition S Pen in yellow color. Oddly, Samsung has neglected to specify exactly what chip it’s used – only that it’s a 10nm octacore chip with a max clock speed of 2.7GHz. There’s also a support for a microSD card to expand storage memory.
Samsung touts the new Galaxy Note 9 has having an ‘all-day battery.’ But what will this mean for users? It is backed by a massive 4000mAh battery – that is bigger than any Note device ever. There’s also water cooling and advanced power management features. Rather than a battery, the S Pen has a supercapacitor inside that keeps it running for about 30 minutes at a time. The selfies part is important because the new feature will help take group photos.
The P20 Pro doesn’t have a 3.5mm headphone jack, nor does it offer a stylus of any description, but the day-to-day performance is likely to be very much on par with the Note 9 in terms of hardware, unless you opt for the 8GB RAM model, in which case the Note 9 is likely to be better for some tasks.
Adding Bluetooth Low Energy for the first time lets you use the S Pen with the press of a button to wirelessly control a PowerPoint, play music and operate the camera, among other customizable and potentially useful tasks. Developers can even integrate the S Pen’s new, advanced BLE functionalities into their apps later this year. Samsung has announced that in India the Note 9 will go on sale in the next three weeks, in other words, in the last week of this August. It also supports Samsung’s adaptive fast charging technology and comes with a USB Type-C port.
All the fan-favourite features have made a return, too.
