Samsung Unveils New Smartphone

Qualcomm has confirmed that the Snapdragon 820 processor will be present in certain models of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.

Samsung touts its expandable memory, bigger batteries, low-light friendly camera, and do-not-disturb feature for gamers as advantages over rival Apple, and the latest iPhone 6S. Sprint’s prepaid brands Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile USA will also carry the new Samsung phones. Announced to come out running the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, the basic Samsung Galaxy S7 device will feature a 5.1 inched screen, and will be running on an impressive 4GB of RAM, complemented by a 32GB storage.

The 5.1-inch Galaxy S7 and 5.5-inch Galaxy S7 edge are constructed with 3D glass and metal – all in a sleek design with durability and ergonomic curves for a comfortable grip. The Galaxy S7 Edge features a 3,600 mAh battery, larger than the Galaxy S6 Edge’s 2,600 mAh, so that issue is likely addressed.

We have been waiting for this day to arrive where Samsung reveals their flagship for the year, the Samsung Galaxy S7.

Two of South Africa’s mobile network operators, namely Cell C and MTN, have opened pre-registration for Samsung S7 and S7 Edge online.

The market research firm said that the 9.7 percent increase in smartphone sales in the final quarter of a year ago over the same period in 2014 takes the industry all the way back to 2008 when the global economy was in crisis.

Further upgrades include a camera that performs well in low-light and has a more sophisticated autofocus.

You might be wondering: What’s so different between the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the newly announced Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge? They’ll both benefit from fast charging, wireless charging and IP68-rated waterproofing.

The S7 and S7 edge are not cheap.

In terms of looks, it’s rocking a very similar design.

The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge will come in four color options – black onyx, gold platinum, white pearl, and silver titanium.
