Samsung unveils the new Android-powered Galaxy Folder flip phone for Korea
As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy J5 comes with a 5 inch HD display that has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, the device also comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and 1.5GB of RAM.
“The phone is very convenient to use because you have both a keypad as well as a touchscreen, plus it will run Android Lollipop”, SamMobile noted. The phone will start shipping sometime in August with black and white color options.
According to GSM Arena, the handset has 8GB internal memory that can be expanded to 128GB maximum.
The Galaxy Folder comes with an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera.
“The folding-style design combined with smartphone features, including the Internet, messenger and social networking services, will add to the device’s convenience”, the tech giant said.
Samsung has simply introduced the successor to last year’s Galaxy Folder clamshell android smartphone in South Korea. A 1,800mAh battery keeps the phone alive. The new phone goes by a similar name as its predecessor.
Put plainly, not enough people are buying Samsung’s high-margin S6 series phones to help stop the company’s sliding profits.
Samsung’s move came after the Galaxy Grand Max, a low-end model that was released in January, became a smash hit in Korea, with 700,000 units sold so far, watchers said.
Samsung is also rumoured to announce the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ at a media event next month in New York and we could possibly see some time dedicated to the S6 mini. Tell us what you think!
