Samsung woos iPhone owners with one-month, $1 Galaxy trial
Samsung writes that you can try “one of latest Samsung phones for 30 days with no obligation”. Apart from the Galaxy device itself, the deal also includes an activated SIM card and a step-by-step guide on how to get started with the handset.
This trial program applies to Samsung’s Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and Galaxy S6 Edge.
According to reports Samsung still lead the smartphone market, obtaining 22 percent of global sales last quarter, Meanwhile, Apple though is trying to be playing a game of catch-up, observers say.
Once you’ve finished the final steps, you’ll be charged $1 to verify your credit card details, and then you’re in. The only catch is that this is restricted to iPhone users, and you’ll need to sign up using your iPhone to qualify for the deal. Well right now, Samsung is in that position and is doing something out of the ordinary (if not out-of-the-box) to lure you into buying its flagship galaxy handsets. Since Apple released the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus past year, the popularity of Android phones has dropped significantly.
This promotion is only available to iPhone users, as users must enroll in the program through their iPhones.
Samsung is set to offer current iPhone users the chance to test drive some of their best handsets for a period of 30 days.
Samsung has launched a new promotional offer aimed squarely at iPhone owners. During the month-long test drive, you will get to try out the devices with a free data plan.
Oh, and if you don’t return the device, Samsung will charge you the full cost of the device they loaned to you: $720 for a Note 5, or $820 for a S6 Edge+.
The launch of Samsung’s Ultimate Test Drive promotion comes, conveniently, just a day after Gartner revealed that the firm is shedding market share at the hands of Apple.
