San Bernardino Shooter’s Neighbor Arrested on Terror Charges

Marquez, 24, was charged Thursday with conspiring to provide material support to terrorists for plotting with gunman Syed Rizwan Farook to launch attacks in 2011 and 2012 at a community college and congested freeway at rush hour that they never carried out. About a month before the attack, Marquez made a reference to the marriage and living “multiple lives” in a chat with a fellow Facebook user that foreshadowed the trouble he was facing before any bullets started flying.

Both men were witnesses at the wedding of Farook’s brother, Raheel, to a Russian woman in 2011, according to Riverside County marriage records. Marquez’s wife’s sister is married to Farook’s older brother. Instead, Chernykh lived with her boyfriend and their child. This comes as police arrest Syed Farook’s childhood friend, who bought the weapons used in the shooting.

They say they found text messages between Marquez and Chernykh saying they were nervous about an upcoming interview with immigration officials because they had spent so little time together.

Marquez was also charged with the unlawful purchase of the guns used in the December 2 shooting rampage carried out by US-born Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik, as well as the purchase of some of the explosive material used in the attack. Marquez also bought smokeless powder used to make pipe bombs. Then he says, in another garbled comment, “To me, he was reliable enough for him for storage, like to store my gun”.

Marquez answers, “Yes. Oh my God”.

Meanwhile, it was also revealed that the Farook and Marquez planned other deadly attacks – including one in which they would bomb the cafeteria of their former college in California.Marquez allegedly detailed the aborted schemes, which were planned in 2011, to investigators, court document show. 91, with Farook going auto to vehicle to shoot people while Marquez on a hill would be the sniper killing the cops and other first responders.

The earlier plots involved an attack on students in this cafeteria where farook and Marquez attended classes.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — When the Federal Bureau of Investigation went to speak with a man accused of buying the assault rifles used by his friend in the San Bernardino terror attack, they learned about a sinister plot the two men had crafted years earlier.

A lengthy affidavit outlines the evidence against him, including statements he gave over 11 days after he waived his rights to remain silent and be represented by a lawyer.

An FBI affidavit confirmed in part what was already known – that it was Mr Marquez who had bought the two assault rifles at a local sporting goods shop. Marquez: It’s Syed Farook.

“Mr. Marquez conspired with Mr. Farook to commit vicious attacks, as set forth in today’s charges”, said U.S. Attorney Eileen M. Decker. That’s the bottom line from the criminal complaint filed against farook weigh lodgetime friend Enrique Marquez. The bodies of the husband and wife behind the California shootings in San Bernardino on Dec. 2, 2015, have been released by authorities and buried Tuesday, Dec. 15 in Southern California.

The officials say the exact federal charges against Enrique Marquez aren’t immediately clear. The official was familiar with the visas but not authorized to speak publicly.

Farook and Malik were killed in a shootout with police shortly after the initial attack at the Inland Regional Center.
