San Diego Jewish Federation Solves Trump’s Starbucks Problem
“So when I get in, I asked for my coffee, they asked for my name and I told them my name is Merry Christmas”, said Feuerstein.
Starbucks is under fire from a few Christians for releasing minimalistic red holiday cups earlier this month.
Starbucks hasn’t officially responded to the Dunkin’ Donuts holiday coffee cup, but they are standing firmly behind their own.
Acknowledging the discontented parties, presidential candidate Donald Trump casually suggested a boycott of the coffee chain.
This year the cups are just red – which a few Christians allege is the secular company wringing the last bitty remains of Christmas out of the most wonderful time of year.
I hope we can all find our peace, be it through our coffee cups or something else, this holiday season.
Now, Dunkin’ Donuts has created its seasonal cup and the internet is beginning to notice.
“If more companies in America were doing what Starbucks is doing, this would be a very different discussion”, he said, noting he had drank one of the company’s beverages that morning.
Dunkin’ Donuts shared a photo of the holiday cup on Instagram on Tuesday, November 10, along with a star emoji and the caption, “JOY”.
“If I become president, we’re all going to be saying “Merry Christmas” again”.
“In the past, we have told stories with our holiday cups designs”, Jeffrey Fields, Starbucks vice president of Design & Content explained.
To put things into perspective, here are a few Starbucks cup designs that are actually trying to ruin Christmas.
In a press release announcing the cups, Starbucks said it embraces customers from “all backgrounds and religions” and that “during the holidays the company aims to bring customers an experience that inspires the spirit of the season”. In the past, their red cup designs have contained Christmas lights, reindeer, and creepy winking snowmen.
