San Francisco: No ‘legal basis’ to hold shooting suspect
Trump took to Twitter on Friday to politicize the death of a woman in San Francisco earlier today, insisting that her murder by an illegal immigrant proves him right all along.
Kice said ICE issued a detainer for Sanchez in March, requesting to be notified if he was going to be released.
“There does not appear to be any connection between the victim and the suspect”, a San Francisco police official told ABC News.
Officers arrested Sanchez shortly after Wednesday’s seemingly random slaying of Kathryn Steinle at Pier 14 – one of the busiest attractions in the city. CNN could not determine on Friday if he has an attorney.
Liz Sullivan told the San Francisco Chronicle (http://bit.ly/1IuWbKw) the killing of her daughter was unbelievable and surreal.
Video shows several people trying to help the young woman.
“So we were walking, three abreast, Kate and I and a friend of ours that’s here visiting and there was a pop and Kate went down”, Jim Steinle said.
The victim, Kathryn Steinle, later died at a local hospital. Sullivan said her heart stopped twice on the way to the hospital and she died during surgery.
“She fought for her life”, Sullivan said. Horne said they checked and found none.
Meanwhile, Steinle’s death has left her family devastated and confused as to why she was targeted. Her cousin said she loved her mother and father “more than anything”.
“This foolish as well as being needless behave of brutality performed with an unlawful migrant is another experience in as to why must reliable our outer reaches promptly”, Trump said in a statement of facts. “This is a widely adopted position”.
The sheriff’s office said, “When Mr. Lopez-Sanchez was booked into the jail, there was no active Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) warrant or judicial order of removal for him”. He was on probation for an unspecified conviction, Andraychak said. ICE said Lopez-Sanchez has seven felony convictions, four for drug offenses. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) databases indicate the individual charged in this case has been previously deported five times, most recently in 2009.
ICE’s latest encounter with the murder suspect occurred in March when he was remanded to our custody after serving a multi-year federal prison sentence for felony re-entry after deportation.
