Sanders, Clinton jockey for key voters in South Carolina
“Well, I’m a Democrat”. “It’s just that when women talk, a few people think we’re shouting”. I’m not a former independent.
Sanders’ campaign has become more serious in recent weeks, focusing on ballot access and organizing the raw enthusiasm for the longtime democratic socialist. “I want to see how it works before we do a national plan from the federal government because I think there’s a lot for us to learn”. “It seemed like the other candidates wanted to accomplish something else”. We need to stand up to the top 1 percent.
Hillary Clinton called for lowering the federal restrictions on marijuana research at a town hall meeting Saturday on the campus of Claflin University, a historically black university. Categorized by the Drug Enforcement Administration as a Schedule 1 drug (the highest – no pun intended – categorization for drugs with “with no now accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse”), marijuana is now classified alongside such substances as heroin – something fellow Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has already called out as “absurd”. And Clinton as to her personality type, Clinton claimed she was an “extro-introvert” who liked to be around people but also liked her alone time. “They think we have to choose between freedom and opportunity”, Castro said. You know, there are so many phrases I hear but I don’t know how to use. We have to break up these huge financial institutions. “I am back again and I intend to do everything I can to be successful this time”.

With one statement, Sen.
In a setback for the Sanders campaign, his recently appointed Nevada state director unexpectedly stepped down Sunday.
Sanders and O’Malley have been stepping up their criticism of Clinton since the first debate, but she’s suggested she’s saving most of her fire for Republicans. I thought that this method of getting to know the candidates was very helpful for the American people, giving the candidates a chance to appear human and be honest to connect with the American people instead of being political automatons that modern politics expect presidential candidates to be nowadays. And I’ve never once rejected the nomination of the Democratic Party. “But I also want to make sure you got a second chance and it shouldn’t be that you are denied a job that has nothing to do with, as I understand working for the Birmingham newspaper would have, with your credit score or your credit situation”. He also chastised Clinton for approaching policy with “poll-tested triangulation”.
Last night, Saturday Night Live used its cold opening to mock MSNBC’s Democratic presidential forum with cast member Cecily Strong portraying moderator Rachel Maddow. “They are impatient and they deserve to be impatient”, she said. “At this point, it should not come as any surprise why she continues to dodge having a meaningful conversation with the new American immigrant community”.
Still, attacking Clinton on the debate stage is a risky strategy that could backfire.
Though Maddow didn’t press Sanders on Clinton’s email, he did raise questions – not mentioning her by name, but the intention was clear – about her commitment to environmental protections, embracing campaign finance reform and differing foreign policy views. And so, while their gloves may be off, in the parlance of campaign reporters, her opponents are pulling their punches.
