Sanders endorses Clinton for president
After an often bitter campaign, Sanders said he will do everything he can to make Clinton “the next president” of the US.

Bernie Sanders formally endorsed presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton on Tuesday, ending a contentious primary season.

After Sanders’ endorsement Tuesday, Trump took to Twitter to accuse him of abandoning his supporters.
Clinton donated $10,000 to help Sanders get elected to the Senate, through a PAC. Sanders noted during the primaries that Clinton had called the Trans Pacific Partnership trade deal the ‘gold standard, ‘ though she ultimately became a critic of the deal as Sanders ran at her from the left.

Sanders’ reluctance to support Clinton until now has generated criticism of his diminished role in the election and his lessened influence on Democratic politics.
