Sanders moves farther away from Biden claim of pending Clinton endorsement
Watch Bernie Sanders state his intention to vote for Hillary Clinton in the following MSNBC video. No matter how short of Sanders’ goals Clinton may fall, it will be a complete collapse for all Sanders is working for if his voters don’t join him in November in voting for Clinton.
Hayes pressed Sanders to answer whether doing everything he can to stop Trump from winning the election included attending rally’s for Clinton, as someone who endorses a candidate normally would. “Here’s the progress that we have made, ‘” Sanders said.
“I don’t think there’s ever been someone so qualified to hold this office”, Obama said in a video message that day as he offered his full-throated endorsement of the former secretary of state, senator and first lady.
In an interview on MSNBC Thursday night, Sanders responded to Trump, who at a rally in ME on Wednesday, told a crowd he knew “what (Sanders) thinks inside” and that the Vermont senator “hates” Hillary Clinton. “As of this moment, we’re not there quite yet”. “Bernie’s going to endorse her, this is going to work out”.
Sanders has gone back and forth on his support for Clinton, much to the confusion and frustration of many of his supporters who don’t know whether he has given in and supported his opponent or better yet, he has something up his sleeve. “But to say that I hate her is absolutely untrue”, he told Hayes.
“I hope it happens”, Sanders said. Asked about Biden’s statement, Sanders replied: “Look, on that issue, we are trying to work with Secretary Clinton’s campaign on areas that we can agree on”, before reciting a laundry list of those issues, including free public college and universal health care, on which his supporters wanted to reach said agreement.
Sanders announced earlier this month that he would vote for Clinton in the general election, but stopped short of endorsing the Democratic front-runner.
