Sanders refutes Clinton on guns, healthcare
Clinton is in a strong position in numerous states that hold primaries later in the nominating contest.
With Sanders now leading in Iowa and New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada are seen as more important for the Clinton campaign than they were weeks ago.
A new Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday shows that Sanders is now the front-runner in Iowa – with 49% support to Clinton’s 44% and former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley’s 4%.
Sanders, who voted for ObamaCare and helped write some of it, said that under his Medicare For All plan, everyone would have health insurance and middle-class families would save thousands of dollars.
But even if Clinton puts Sanders away, she has Trump out there waiting. She’s questioning whether Sanders would “stand up” to the National Rife Association and she’s suggesting Sanders can’t just “wave a magic wand” and fulfill some of his campaign promises “in the real world”.

A New York Times/CBS News poll Tuesday showed that Clinton still leads Sanders among Democrats nationally, 48%-41% – much smaller than the 20-point lead she enjoyed last month. Sanders has more contributors, small though they be, than Clinton – and small contributors vote for the candidate they support financially. Sanders’ has offered a proposal to provide free tuition at public universities. “But of course, Republicans have tremendous challenges, too”.
The biggest problem in trying to predict the outcome in either state is that many voters still haven’t made up their minds.
Bernie Sanders said the Hillary Clinton campaign’s escalating attacks on him are unequivocally wrong, pushing back on the increased scrutiny of his record. All other candidates have less than 5%.
Sanders has pledged to offer a tax plan ahead of Iowa’s caucuses on February 1, but he hasn’t set a date for its release.
Both Iowa and New Hampshire are already notoriously hard to poll.

Clinton’s objection centers on ostensible concerns that by requiring states to administer their own single-payer systems, Sanders would leave residents of Republican-governed states behind. “It’s time to pick a side”, she says, implying that she and Sanders are on different ones.
