Sanders, Trump Roll To Victories In New Hampshire Primary
He eventually settled on irony, calling Trump “humble”.
Rubio campaign manager, Terry Sullivan, told the AP the Republican primary contest could “easily extend to May – “or the convention”. Trump has been able to tap into the angst and anger that many Americans feel about the economy and national security after seven years with Barack Obama in the White House. After Clinton won the money race in 2015, Sanders out-raised the former secretary of state in January, $20 million to $15 million.
Rath, the Kasich adviser, said: “We have a lot of people who have been promising money if we perform”.
Still, Obama is slated to deliver a message on Wednesday that may again hint at his preference.
Among registered Democrats, however, Sanders ran even with Clinton.
Trump congratulated Democratic victor Bernie Sanders in his victory speech, but chided the Vermont senator saying ” He wants to give away our country. “So I guess I’ve got to go back to the beginning”. “And eminent domain is a good thing, not a bad thing”.
He adds: “China has control, absolute control over North Korea…And they should make that problem disappear”. In a primary stunner, Ohio Gov. John Kasich surged from relative obscurity to second place, a feat his poorly funded campaign will struggle to replicate in SC and beyond.
Iowa Caucuses victor Ted Cruz and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush were separated by fractions of a point for third place.
The biggest loser was Marco Rubio. Rubio trailed Bush by less than a percentage point. His campaign released a radio ad Wednesday in SC featuring his brother, former President George W. Bush. “I mean, is it possible for a man to be sadder than Jeb Bush?”
With polls suggesting Trump has a healthy lead, it could become a matter of simply trying to claim momentum and a handful of delegates.
“There’s something going on”, he said.
“Especially that last three months, and especially getting us in that quicksand”. I did not do well on Saturday night. “I’m going to keep doing what I’m doing”.
Hull says he’s pro-business, but not exactly pro-Trump. I’d go home if I didn’t think I could compete.
“The governor is still the governor, regardless of where he is”, said Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor, who could find herself in the governor’s office next January if Mr. Kasich is successful as either a presidential or vice presidential candidate. And he is taking on Trump, and the dangers the demagogue poses, more forcefully than anybody in the race. Instead, he says he’ll let his record speak for itself. Kasich has refrained from engaging in numerous sharp attacks that have dominated much of the discourse between his competitors. Lindsey Graham, who endorsed Bush after ending his own bid for the nomination. The GOP primary here is expected to draw more than 700,000 voters, dwarfing the Iowa and New Hampshire contests.
Trump wasn’t publicly choosing among his rivals. He no longer hides from his name – he’s asked his brother to campaign for him – and he acknowledges that “I’m part of the establishment”.
It comes just as the Trump campaign chose to pull an anti-Cruz ad and replace it with a positive spot in SC.
Exit polls left little doubt that Rubio’s glitches ruined his prospects in New Hampshire.
Jeb Bush has drawn large crowds during his appearances in SC on Wednesday and Thursday after experiencing something of a comeback with a fourth place finish in New Hampshire.
Christie, though was finishing with less than 10 percent of the vote and said he’d head back to New Jersey to reconsider the race.
