Sanders vs. Clinton: A Study in Contrasts
Although she made a tacit case against him by saying the USA can’t afford to undo gains made under Obamacare (something Clinton has warned Sanders’ plan for a “Medicare for all” system would do), Clinton avoided mentioning the name of the senator from neighboring Vermont, something she was not shy about doing in Iowa. Clinton scored 65 percent as the best to handle foreign policy if she was elected president, while Sanders scored 25 percent.
Contrasting Hillary with her chief contender for the Democratic nomination, Bernie Sanders, Mr. Clinton said that the nation needs “not anger but answers”.
The survey from CNN/ORC shows Mr. Sanders, who was trailing Mrs. Clinton significantly in early December, erasing her lead and overtaking her. Likely Democratic caucusgoers now back the Vermont senator over Mrs. Clinton by eight percentage points, 51 percent to 43 percent.
On Wednesday night, the campaign sent out a fundraising email asking for cash to compete with Sanders on the airwaves in Iowa and New Hampshire.

Of the issues most pressing for voters, the economy was the lead at 37 percent for Republicans to 46 percent for Democrats.
