Sanders widens lead over Clinton in NH
Brzezinski said that while Clinton is “brush[ing] off” her poll numbers in Iowa and New Hampshire, she has also been differentiating herself from Sanders “like she never has before”.
The former New York Senator and Secretary of State has expressed policies that would create a minimum tax rate of 30 percent on anyone earning more than $1 million per year.
MSNBC’s Morning Joe host Mika Brzezinski noted Monday that on the issue of income inequality, Hillary Clinton was being criticized for a lack of authenticity while no one doubted Bernie Sanders’ authenticity. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination.
On Sunday, a new NBC/WSJ/Marist poll showed Clinton ahead of Sanders by just 3 points in Iowa.
And Sanders is trying to counter Clinton’s argument by pointing to polls in Iowa and New Hampshire, both battleground states in the general election, which show him outperforming his rival against Trump and Cruz.
Clinton has attacked Sanders in recent days for his 2005 vote that protected gun manufacturers from lawsuits. Sanders has defended the vote by pointing to the fact that he represents a state with a strong hunting tradition where, as recently as 2010, over half of adults owned guns.
Bernie Sanders strategist Tad Devine, in an interview with the Post on Monday, obviously didn’t disagree.
Clinton said, “Think hard about the people who are presenting themselves to you, their experience, their qualifications, their positions”.
Sanders, a Vermont senator who identifies himself as a democratic socialist, has more resonance with voters on the issue at a time when the “basic bargain” with the middle class is “broken” as “productivity is up, wages are stagnant”, Biden said on CNN. “And he has said that”.
Weighing in on the race he nearly joined, Biden said he never felt Clinton was the prohibitive favorite to win the nomination.
“I do not think the raids are an appropriate tool to enforce the immigration laws”.
“It’s going to be interesting to see what happens”.
“She came out with a little bit of a statement about me”, Trump said of Hillary Clinton, “and I came out with a very big statement about her and Bill, and she stopped talking about me all of the sudden”.
A new poll conducted by USA TODAY/Rock the Vote finds that most potential voters under the age of 35 strongly favour Bernie Sanders over Ms Clinton.
“I didn’t know when I became a mom, that one of the great gifts I would receive would be watching my parents as grandparents”, she said, describing how her parents enjoy singing “Wheels on the Bus” with granddaughter Charlotte, who was born in September 2014.
