Sanderson Farms recalls poultry products
Sanderson Farms Inc.is voluntarily recalling more than half a million pounds of chicken products after an analysis found some samples containing foreign material, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety & Inspection Service confirmed.

None of the supposedly contaminated products reached the tables of consumers, as the food went to only three customers, not directly to supermarkets or stores.
“YOUNG CHICKEN PARTS JUMBO BONELESS SKINLESS BREAST FILLETS WITH RIB MEAT” with case code 45017.
The company, headquartered in Laurel, Miss., identified all of the possibly-contaminated chicken and notified customers to hold and return the products.
The recall involves 551,090 pounds of frozen chicken meat that were produced at the company’s Hazelhurst, Mississippi, factory on September 17 and 18.
The recalled chicken was sent to processing facilities in Georgia and Louisiana.
All products bear the establishment number “EST”.
70- and 1800-pound combination cases that read “FRESH YOUNG CHICKEN PARTS BREAST FRAMES” with case code 45969. It describes this kind of recall as a “health hazard situation where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death”.
