SanDisk Unveils Mobile Flash Drive For USB-C Devices
Here’s more good news for action cam owners – this card is shcokproof, resistant to extreme temperatures, waterproof, and safe to take through X-ray machines.
Chief among the new products is the world’s first USB Type-C flash drive, the SanDisk Ultra. It is available worldwide from Amazon and other retailers in capacities of 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB with MSRPs of USD 19.99, USD 29.99, USD 49.99 and USD 79.99, respectively.
While they’re faster, SanDisk’s new microSD cards unfortunately didn’t get any bigger.
The new Sandisk extreme pro microSDXC UHS-II card delivers almost 3x the speed of current cards. Coming directly to the data transfer speeds, these microSD storage cards are able to transfer speeds of up to 275MB/s. How so?
SanDisk’s latest model works with new computers that showcase the USB-C ports including Apple’ latest MacBook, Chromebook Pixel 2 by Google, and XPS 12, XPS 13, XPS 15 and Latitude 7000 series laptop of Dell.
“Today’s mobile devices are more sophisticated than ever, and require more advanced technology to deliver the best possible user experience”, said IDC Research Director for mobile and tablets Les Santiago.
The new SanDisk Ultra USB Type-C Flash Drive is available in up to 128GB* and delivers USB 3.1 performance of up to 150MB/s, making it SanDisk’s fastest and highest capacity USB Type-C offering.
Mobile World Congress 2016 is where manufacturers like SanDisk also come to show off their goods, and the company’s latest microSD card lineup boasts data transfer speeds that will definitely put your mechanical hard drive to shame. When the drive is inserted into an Android device with a USB-C port, the app automatically launches to let users manage their files. It’s unclear exactly when the new SanDisk flash drive will hit the market. See www.sandisk.com/dualdrive-c for list of compatible devices.
