Sandler may be going to Netflix, but Seth Rogen’s going to Hulu!
The information, which says it has received confirmation that Hulu ordered the pilot episode. Hulu has been aggressive in ramping up its original series slate with projects from top auspices. In a competitive situation with several outlets pursuing, including premium cable networks, Hulu has landed Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s half-hour comedy Future Man with a pilot order.
The series centers on a janitor who moonlights as a global video gaming champ.
Future Man tells the story of a janitor, who’s a world-ranked video gamer at night, and his quest to save the human race after visitors from the future tell him he’s the only one who can stop an impending super-race invasion. This was the same office Rogen and Goldberg occupied when they wrote The Interview (with Dan Sterling), the controversial political satire that opened in just 331 theaters – rather than 3500 – due to cyber security threats. But Rogen and Goldberg’s next television project may not be on TV at all.
He’s very busy. There’s Future Man and Preacher, which he and Goldberg are developing for AMC, as well as Neighbors 2, Sausage Party, Steve Jobs, Kung Fu Panda 3, and B.O.O.: Bureau of Otherworldly Operations.
