Sandra Lee undergoes second surgery
On Tuesday, August 11, Sandra Lee is scheduled to undergo another surgery related to the Food Network celebrity’s breast cancer diagnosis, which she revealed in May during an episode of Good Morning America. She’s endured so much over the past few months, but after another successful surgery, Lee made a triumphant walk out of Roosevelt Hospital with longtime boyfriend Governor Andrew Cuomo by her side. Lee’s team posted a picture of her post-op in her hospital room, adding she’s doing incredibly well and back to herself, rearranging flowers, organizing seating for her visitors and making sure everyone takes time to eat.
Andrew Cuomo, who was also on standby throughout her procedure. “What can we say?” “Sandra was hoping to avoid any further operations until her final reconstruction”, read the post.
“Sandra lifted her head slightly and said, ‘Water WAS my negotiation…I’d really love a nice glass of rosé.’ So her celebratory self is right in place”, Chermol said. But… we’re happy because we think she’s won the match!…
“If it saves one person, and makes one more person go get a mammogram, and if they’re sitting down right now watching this, don’t watch this TV”, she said during the interview.
She will recover at the home she shares in Westchester with Cuomo where she will have steady nursing care for weeks to ward off infection.
The 49-year-old was taken to the hospital for complications from a recent double mastectomy.
