Sania-Martina enter WTA semi-finals
Former world number one Martina Hingis believes such a prospect would be “nice”, given the way they have been playing.
After her 6-4, 6-4 win over top seed Simona Halep last night, the Russian said: “I got injured in the middle of the season, it’s not as if I got injured at the end of the season, so I can’t (blame) playing a long season for my injuries this year”. “She’s done really well in the last one month”.
“She bakes all day and forces me to eat her new cakes”, Hao-ching said.
The 16-time Grand Slam victor – five singles and 11 doubles – also feels that Muguruza has all the attributes and potential to become the world’s best player in the future.
“I’m not the older sister on the court and definitely not the leader because she never listens to me”, Yung-jan told the Times with a grin.
Timea and Kristina came back stronger in the second set but the reigning US Open champions once again broke the fourth seeds to win the tie and comprehensively enter the semifinals.
And if she had to pick a victor? “I think that’s a tough question but it would be nice to see Maria against Garbiñe, that would be a nice final”, she mused.
