Sarah Harding ‘too busy’ for Coronation Street
The former Girls Aloud star performed her new single Threads on the show on 7 August but viewers quickly flooded Twitter with claims that she was not singing live, instead choosing to lip-sync. “Oh dear…#Lorraine”.
She told presenter Jenni Falconer: “I co-wrote this song about life experiences”.
People are slating her on the social media site this morning after she mimed on Lorraine.
This latest public mauling comes only a week after the 33-year-old appeared in four episodes of Coronation Street before having her contract terminated.
She famously hit one of the worst bum notes in TV history while performing The Loving Kind with Girls Aloud – prompting a disapproving Cheryl to give her an “ouch” glance mid performance.
To make matters worse, when Sarah moved towards and away from the microphone her vocal bizarrely stayed at the same ideal level exposing her for all to see.
Corrie fans blasted the singer last week when she arrived on the cobbles as Robert Preston’s estranged wife Joni.
While another added: “Oh dear!”
Despite the controversy, Harding appeared unabashed by the critical response to her acting abilities and used the appearance on Lorraine to speak about how much she enjoyed it.
I had a slanging match on my very first day!
She also explained the acting techniques demonstrated in a scene in which she slaps Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) and revealed there was no actual physical contact “believe it or not”.
Harding did, however, admit that she won’t be returning to the show: ‘That’s it, ‘ she said.
Although some fans stood up for her.
