Sarah Michelle Gellar signs up to ‘Cruel Intentions’ TV series
Since NBC’s announcement that they were going to be making an entire television series that will continue the events of the hit 1999 drama film “Cruel Intentions”, there has been a lot of talk regarding what exactly will the movie be about and who would be coming back to reprise their roles. “Logan plays Cassidy, the spoiled daughter of Kathryn’s husband Pascal”.
Gellar first announced the news on Instagram. That’s right “everybody loves me, and I intend to keep it that way” #kathrynmerteuil is back!!!
Then we see a war of words between a shoemaker and Sarah Michelle Gellar’s annoying character, who threatens to withhold funding that would affect the shoemaker’s salary. The stepsister of Sebastian Valmont, Kathryn is privately shaken by the arrival of Sebastian’s son, Bash, and the reappearance in her life of the girl she wronged years ago, Annette Hargrove Casey.
If the TV show gets signed up Gellar will be the female lead.
Gellar will be starring in the follow-up series, which is written by Jordan Ross and Lindsey Rosin, as well as the original “Cruel Intentions” writer and director, Roger Kumble. Featuring two juxtaposed photos, the “The Crazy Ones” star explains what could seem like tradition for the original “Cruel Intentions” team.
On her Instagram, Sarah shared a throwback photo with the original cast of Cruel Intentions, including Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe, grabbing dinner.
The new Cruel Intentions takes place 15 years after the film ended, centering around an all grown up Kathryn played by Gellar.
