Sarah Palin doubles down on Paul Ryan snub
Republican Donald Trump acted to steer his White House campaign back into favour with his party’s establishment on Friday by endorsing US House of Representatives speaker Paul Ryan and two republican senators seeking re-election, after expressing coolness toward them earlier this week.
A Nehlen spokesman told The Daily Caller the Trump campaign had reached out and invited the congressional candidate to attend the rally earlier Friday.

“He’s a good man”, the celebrity businessman and former Atlantic City casino tycoon added about Ryan.
“And we may disagree on a couple of things, but mostly we agree, and we’re gonna get it done”.
During an interview with The Washington Post earlier this week, Trump said that he was “just not quite there yet” on endorsing Ryan. We need very strong leadership.
Mr Trump has praised Mr Putin as a great leader, and taken policy positions “consistent with Russian, not American, interests”, including endorsing Russian espionage against USA figures like Mrs Clinton, Mr Morell said. Trump shocked Republican leaders yet again this week when he refused to declare support for Ryan, instead stating that “I’m just not there yet”.
“I am not ready to support Speaker Ryan’s agenda”.
Trump had balked at endorsing Ryan on Tuesday in an interview with The Washington Post, a move that intensified concerns about his presidential campaign within the GOP as Trump already faced controversy over his criticism over the weekend of the parents of an American soldier killed in combat. This comes after Trump once said McCain was not a war hero because he “was captured”.
“We have no knowledge of this and it’s a question for their campaign”, the aide said. Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos offered a blunt message ahead of the presidential nominee’s arrival: “We are Ryan Republicans here in Wisconsin, not Trump Republicans”.
The former USA secretary of state sought to “clarify and explain” a recent statement on Fox News Sunday that FBI Director James Comey said her answers to the bureau about her use of a private email server were “truthful”.
Ryan has criticized Trump’s proposed ban on Muslims entering the USA and said it was racist for him to suggest that a judge’s Mexican ancestry made it impossible for him to be impartial in a civil fraud suit against Trump. “Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, a state I truly love, primarily because that was my first victory”, he said.
To be sure, several Republican senators in tough reelection bid, particularly in Democrat-leaning states, have struggled with the Trump endorsement.
Both Ryan and McCain seemingly made it onto Trump’s hit list after criticizing him for mocking the family of Humayun Khan, a U.S. Army captain who died in a suicide bombing in Iraq in 2004. Based on listener emails I get a large swath of Trump’s base has no use for Ryan.
“Heck if I know”.
NEW YORK • Mr Donald Trump’s references to Harvard University often imply that he considers it a paragon of education, but his fellow Republicans there do not share the same fondness for him.
“With any endorsement of anybody, there’s never a blank check”, Ryan told conservative talk radio host Charlie Sykes in Milwaukee.
