Sarah Palin: Trump ‘would let our warriors do their job’
The call came in just hours before his mother, former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, was scheduled to formally endorse Donald Trump for president.
“Media heads are spinning”, the former vice presidential candidate said after taking the stage at a Trump rally Tuesday at Iowa State University.
The eldest son of the former Alaska governor Sarah Palin has been charged with assault after allegedly hitting his girlfriend in the face.
While Trump said he doesn’t typically put much stock in endorsements, he said, “I think it could very well result in votes”.
“He’s going rogue left and right”.
In a statement before the event, Trump said he was “greatly honored” by the endorsement. John McCain in his 2008 bid for the White House. “She is a friend, and a high quality person whom I have great respect for”.
Palin threw the woman’s mobile phone across the driveway, and after she retrieved it he was holding a gun pointed near his face, yelling “do you think I won’t do it?”
After Texas Sen. Ted Cruz’s attack on Trump and his so-called “New York values” during the Republican primary last week in SC, he found himself an even stronger supporter of Trump.
The man who first gave Sarah Palin a starring national role in August 2008 will try to avoid getting involved in the Trump endorsement storyline – for now, at least. The statement also quoted Cruz as once saying he “would not be in the United States Senate were it not for Gov. Sarah Palin….”
Campaigning in New Hampshire, Tuesday, Cruz said, “Regardless of what Sarah intends to do in 2016, I will remain a big, big fan of Sarah Palin”. She frequently offers political commentary on cable news channels, has starred in a reality television show and is regularly a featured guest at conservative conventions.
GOP consultant Kevin Madden said the timing will likely help Trump crowd out Cruz’s message as the Iowa caucuses approach.
Palin said there was nothing wrong with Trump being a multibillionaire and that it did not make him an elitist, citing all the time he had spent with construction workers as a real-estate developer. June Heidn, 62, said Palin was “inspiring” and might help Trump appeal to female voters. Several referenced what they saw as her poor performance as a vice presidential candidate.
“She really is somebody who knows what’s happening and she’s a special person”, Trump had said.
Earlier on Tuesday, Mr Trump received an endorsement from the daughter of film star John Wayne. Aissa Wayne said the country needs a strong and courageous leader like her father, noting that John Wayne would be offering his endorsement if he were still alive.
