“Scandal” Recap: Moving Out of the White House
They’re the only ones in the whole series whose hands aren’t dirty. I think for once in her life, she’s fully present and is really, really ready to go after her dreams. As she tearfully tells Tami Taylor, “I can’t take care of a baby”. For years she longed for a future with Fitz; a marriage and maybe even children.
Also worth noting: Tom is alive despite being placed in a rough situation last episode. Get Mellie a new haircut. After years of secret meetings, endless brooding and male distractions, Olivia Pope finally got to be open about her relationship with the president. Huck perhaps has been reformed, while it looks like Jake has slipped back into the assassin darkness.
Less clear is if Mellie cares about the fate of Rowan – who’s now been captured by Huck (Guillermo Diaz) and whom Fitz ordered Jake (Scott Foley) to kill – or exactly how much she cares. There’s a strong implication that she’s having an abortion.
ROWAN Done, kaput, needs to go yesterday-we’ve had our tearful goodbye to Olivia, and it’s time to drop the hammer once and for all.
“I think it would be, next to the death of his son, the most gutting news he could get and frankly I don’t know how he’d recover from that”, Goldwyn told THR. When she gets back to the White House, she mad dashes for her special moonshine stash, so you know her distress is real. Come at her he has, teeing up the latest Olitz breakdown like a master puppeteer.
The finale ended with Liv moving out of the White House. Not many people are underemployed as the president’s press secretary, but Abby is. She’s been reduced to saying sir period and sir comma question mark. More manipulations and changing plotlines as well as character challenges awaits the forthcoming finale for this much-loved series and it is just about time to close the curtains for this season.
Now it’s time for a little guessing game. The two have traded places and it is now Liv who is trapped on the White House, playing second fiddle to Fitz (Tony Goldwin). We deserve to have this one pure thing. Have you ever seen – have you ever watched Scandal?
Actress Kerry Washington, from the film “Django Unchained”, arrives at the 19th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles, California January 27, 2013. “While a few critics blast “Scandal” for being too melodramatic and soapy, Morton says that the show isn’t just about political or sexual intrigue”.
I would LOVE it if “Planned Parenthood no longer exists!” Only insane can save her now. “This episode, you’re just gonna need to be ready”. It wasn’t “moved to discretionary”, it has always been there and always will. It’s not enough for PP to be funded, Mellie wants it to be permanently guaranteed?! Shonda. I was and am weak. The show is teasing big drama in this show and fans want “Scandal” spoilers. Or at least not as invested as I am in this scenario… And obviously Mellie’s sort of a ticking bomb, we’re never quite sure what she’s going to do. This bill keeps the lights on, and I’m all for that, just not when it means hurting people in the process. “A woman a heartbeat away from the presidency” crack turns out to be prescient. “Not anymore.” When there’s no more to be said, they sit side by side and Olivia offers Fitz a sip of the hooch. Then we’re all gonna go home.
