‘Scandal’ Recap: Olivia Reveals All To Fitz & [SPOILER] Kidnaps Rowan
In the new episode 9 press release: OLIVIA FEELS THE STRESS OF THE WHITE HOUSE WHILE MELLIE PROVES TO BE A POWERHOUSE ON THE WINTER FINALE OF ABC’S “SCANDAL”.
Here’s the deal with Bandar: The USA has been trying to sign a disarmament deal with the country for years (Parks and Rec’s Jay Jackson, who also plays a news anchor on Scandal, tells us the exact number down to the day, but I couldn’t type fast enough because I always forget to take him seriously). “It would be an interesting sort of collision, if you will, to have somebody’s who done so many things against the law collide with somebody who’s done so many things to protect the law”. He offers up what he thinks is a nuclear site location in exchange, which Cyrus worries will blow up the accord deal. Enter the Gladiators, who go to work digging into Navid’s backstory. Is he honest, or up to no good? Happily, Fitz grants the asylum. It clearly says it’s a soda factory.
He also mentions that Jake’s hunt for him is not much of a concern for him but that he is more anxious about the devils in his state who are far more unsafe. To Olivia’s surprise, she seems to have walked free. You are convinced that I am the devil.
Speaking of “the boyfriend,” Olivia tells Fitz that she let Rowan out of jail, but she doesn’t mention Mellie. “That train has left the station, and you do not get to ride this anymore”, he huffs. She added that Fitz and Olivia exist in a way they’ve never existed before especially now that they’ve started an official relationship. Again, it’s easier for me to be intolerant of fictional characters, but I don’t see why Eli Pope still gets to take up space on the planet. “I’m not ready to be done”. Realizing he’s being iced out of the White House’s inner circle, Cyrus tasks David with finding Rowan and returning “him to his cement box”. Who is Navid? We’ll get there… She truly believed her father was the innocent one this time.
Number Two: Rowan showed up at Olivia doorstep to… you know, I’m not sure what the point was, to gain her sympathy? Interestingly, we don’t hear the words in this scene – all we hear is the smooth sounds of Carole King’s “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow”. Yep, POTUS shocks Cyrus and demands Liv be released and sent straight to the residence.
The White House is putting the finishing touches on an historic nuclear arms treaty with a fake Middle Eastern country for peace. “You live here now”, he creepily informs Liv, declaring to keep her safe (with her own Secret Service detail and all). “This is your home”. Of course Huck is the one who abducted Rowan. Needless to say, this one little secret will go back to bite them but Mellie is determined she won’t be on the losing end of the drastic fallout.
Not only is Olivia’s relationship with the president, Cyrus and former first lady strained, Jake continues to show disdain for his ex, too. Could Rowan finally die?
Now it’s your turn.
Tonight’s episode of SCANDAL is going to be absolutely incredible and you won’t want to miss even a minute.
